Forth Bridges Tourism Group
One year on the cruise liner visitors have a very different and hopefully much improved welcome to Queensferry. Working in partnership with the Forth Bridges Tourism group, with the aim of increasing footfall into the town and business engagement, we have made great progress. City of Edinburgh Council now very kindly allows an information point and our team of willing, uniformed volunteers to be positioned on the Pier. This ensures that the first engagement with passengers (and crew) is a friendly, helpful welcome. We have distributed 1000’s of maps, local leaflets and postcards of the Bridges Festival over the last few months. Visitors are encourage to download the MiQueensferry App and are directed towards the High Street for shopping, refreshments and a little bit of history. Feedback to date has been very positive from passengers, crew and local businesses but there is still much to be done. We are working hard to increase awareness of www.CruiseForth.comto ensure passengers have good knowledge of Queensferry before they arrive.
We need to recruit more willing local volunteers to add to our fantastic team. Local businesses need to engage and provide information for us to promote and encourage the visitors to spend locally. More news to follow as the cruise season progresses but if you would like to provide any feedback or suggestions to improve this project please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
