Queensferry has an important place in Scottish history as well as a promising and aspiring future. We want this unique town to be a place that is a great experience for businesses, visitors and residents.
In June 2012, businesses in South Queensferry and Dalmeny voted in favour of creating a Business Improvement District (BID) and to pay an annual contribution through the BID Levy. The levy helped fund projects, services and events to improve the local environment for the benefit of businesses, employees and visitors alike.
Since then the BID has successfully delivered a range of initiatives that reflected the needs of levy payers as outlined in the original 2012 – 2017 business plan. The current proposal highlights some of our key achievements during the first five-year term and plans that are drawn up in consultation with businesses for 2017 – 2022.
As we take steps forward on our journey, we look forward to better engagement and stronger partnerships with BID Members, partners and the wider community to create an improved business confidence and civic pride in our beautiful town.
From 8th June 2017 to the 20th July 2017 businesses, community organisations, schools and churches in Queensferry and Dalmeny will decide to continue making a positive contribution to the commercial and social welfare of the area through the work of Queensferry Ambition.
Only by securing a majority ‘YES’ vote in the renewal ballot will we be able to build on our achievements to date and work with our BID Members and key stakeholders to continue to improve our offering.
This BID Business Plan covers the period of the BID term 30th July 2017 to 29th July 2022.
