The annual festive late-night shopping evening in South Queensferry has been hailed as a hit.
Last Thursday (December 1), shops in the historic town centre opened until 9 p.m., and enticed locals with special offers and festive hospitality.
Sunil Varu, the project manager at local business group Queensferry Ambition, said: “The late-night shopping event was a real success. It was very much led by the businesses themselves and attracted extra people into town.
“It was great to see so many shops open and local people supporting them. There was a real buzz about the town.”
He added: “I hope people continue to shop local and stock up on Christmas gifts at some of the fantastic businesses we have in the South Queensferry and Dalmeny areas.”
Gerardine Renwick of The Little Parlour on the High Street said: “The late-night Christmas shopping event was great. There was a real community feel, with businesses laying on lots of lovely food and festive drinks for shoppers.”
Kirstin Heggie of gift shop Allium on Hopetoun Road, said: “Our shop was really busy and there was a lovely atmosphere around the town. People were really enjoying themselves.” She added that Allium’s Scandinavian Christmas decorations were a particular hit with shoppers.
