Last weekend’s activities to mark Queensferry’s links with author Robert Louis Stevenson (RLS) were judged to be a success.
A parrot hunt, library activities and an evening event in the Hawes Inn were organised – supported by town centre businesses.
Mark Taylor of Forth Bridges Tours, who co-ordinated the local events said: “The Kidnapped Parrot Hunt was lots of fun and all the businesses were happy to be involved.”
He said numbers of children taking part in the Hunt was down on the previous year, but judged the evening event (with an actor appearing as Robert Louis Stevenson) as a “great success”.
“Our capacity for the room is 30 and we got 26, so all good! The performance itself got a great response, especially the Kidnapped scenes, and the feedback was brilliant,” said Mark.
“The winner of the Best Business Pirate was Jamelia from The Little Bakery. She created an extra little treasure hunt with in the cafe and was definitely had the Pirate spirit. The winners of the Kids pirate competition was 7 year-old Alfie and 9 year old Hope who both received book tokens and pirate chocolate. The winner of the Kidnapped Parrot Hunt is 8 year old Hannah Telford who won a family day out to Deep Sea World.”
